Reminds me of my son's high school team. On a kickoff the ball stopped at the 1 yard line and the kid treated like a punt and thought it was a dead ball. The other team jumped on it and scored. Very embarrassing but that's what makes high school football so fun and unpredictable and sometimes maddening.

I agree you have to feel sorry for him ... but I am sure his teammates and classmates don't ... HS kids can be bruttle. I hope the kid knows how to deal with the razzing and name calling I am sure he will be subjected to and realize it was a HS football game and it means nothing.

perhaps that is the point of athletic competition at this level??
This guy enjoyed a moment of "ME" and it cost "WE" a win??
A lesson that has been preached by a few, practiced by fewer still, and is not a current popular concept.
