So does anyone else hear the UFOs in the woods since the storms came through a few weeks ago? Do you know what is causing it?

I have heard the same thing lately. I thought it was a near by generator running after the storm, then when I heard it
in Harpersville and I decided it had to be goming from the Bowater plant. The next day I was in Montevallo and heard it and was told it is Cicado's mating. They do it every 13 or 17 years or something like that. I have seen a couple of them this year so it seems like a good answer.

I was clay shooting at Selwood Farms on the 13th which is near the Caverns in Childersburg. It sounded like some kind of motor running, they said it was Locusts. There must be millions of them, what I saw on the ground near there was a dead katydids but the sound I heard was like a belt driven motor. Mike

It is definitely Cicadas who mate every 13 yrs for about seven weeks and if only mated every 13 years I would make a hell of a lot of noise too.
