Come on Big Foot, with you and I working on that we could have it done by 2030!!

Remember all those rocks you hauled with a wheel barrel???

We might get it done (me supervising--you doing it) by 2030 BUT the way they make treated lumber these days we would have to start all over by 2030!  This deck was built anew in 2012 and started rotting 5 years ago...Oh yes, I remember the rocks in a wheelbarrow..how did I do that?  Good to hear from you LNG...hope you and family are well.

Last year I removed or replaced several pressure treated spots that was more like a Trick or Treat, and trick was on me.

THere was a time there that the process certainly did not work

We are doing well.  Miss the days of forum uproar and Big Foot Awards

I reworked my boat slip in '21 by myself and decided I would not be taking on any more big projects...yeah, I miss the good ole days but I am still on my feet and kickin' ... getting much better at recognizing my limitations...could use a couple more wins 'cross the way this year and I will quit complaining.

Allow me to associate myself with the comments made by LNG on the levity you once brought to this site........and I'll say that I could be talked into coming over to be the MANAGER of this project....for a few days at a time at least!!

I can identify with your position now BigFoot....after changing the pt 5/4 boards at my dock and two side decks on my upper porch I've decided a little discretion is now called for on what I can take on!! Them 16 foot long composit boards are tough to manhandle on a very steep lot like I have.

Good luck on your project my friend.

R-R-U-U-U-UDE!  This thread is becoming "old home week" ...may not find a builder but this is more fun anyway!  Good to hear from you...with a few more check-ins here, we can possibly turn back time--say maybe the days of 'mater growin', sports cars, island hopping, Eclectic chicken auctions, Alan Jackson--just to name a few!

My firm recommendation is to not let your so-called friends talk you into DIY with their help!  Put a cover over my dock and built a new storage shed with a great friend.......sure, I saved some money but that was a lot of lost weekends.

Good answer!  At my age, cannot afford any more lost weekends...we might be able to get LNG's mater garden planted in the spring or perhaps a wash job on rude's Austin Healey (if he still has it) BUT no way on the deck/doors project--not enough ambulances close by!

LOL..................good advise all around BF, so you better take it!!

And, do still have the 1963 Healey, which during the covid lockdown did a complete upholstery job to include new dash, instrument panel seats, carpet , convertible top, tonneau cover etc etc. Just makes me tired typing it out........but won't do that again either!!

Good luck on the project....sorry I don't have any recommendation for you.
