I noticed that th eBay Pine Marina is going to be auctioned off. Who want to go in together and get rid if the houseboats and start up KEROKIE on the weekends (Just kidding about the singing).

We could make up a group and have a community owned marina and boat ramp.

Running a marina can be fun and rewarding along with a whole lot of work during the season. Just be certain you fully understand all of the rules, approvals, insurance regs & costs, etc before you bid. Caveat Emptor!

Mad Wind Creek prior to buying our house, considered this possiblity, then heard rumors of toxic cleanup from leaking gas tanks, (I'm sure this wasn't really the case) but it was enough to make us understand that owning a marina was a little over our head.

But gas would have been cheap!

Not sure what condition the holding tanks are in, something that could cost LoTs of money.

Just kidding, but will it be a silent auction? Apparently the PA will have be turned up enough to hear it on top of Cheaha to get over the houseboats.

Seriously, I suppose it will be dead quiet on a weekday.

ABDs assessment of the marina business means it is kind of like other businesses. Know what you're getting and know what you are getting into.
