New to smith lake

In the near future I will puchasing a home on the Sipsey Fork area of Smith Lake. Currenty, I have been doing my fishing on Lake Mitchell. I have heard that catching bass on Smith Lake is a challenge at best. I want to start fishing Smith lake for bass. What is the prefered method. I like to topwater fish most but do fish worms crankbaits. Any suggestions as to were I can get started fishing. Also, has anyone had much luck fishing crankbatis trolling?
