A friend of mine whose kids are at Hoover HS ( MTV's Two-a-Days fame) says Rush Propst is being courted as a potential assistant coach for UA. He went to the Steve Spurrier Coaching School.

How did Hoover's season turn out. I don't live in the state yet found myself watching a couple of the episodes on MTV and found the coach a winner. Hoover won't really let him or perhaps for UA's sake he's a fit the Tide needs. just asking

And thanks for the information. I must admit my not being in Alabama leaves me the outsider I perfer not to be and I had thoughts about the coach. It takes a special man to rise to ranks of a head coach, especailly in the SEC., Heck years ago Notre Dame - I have no love for ND, hired a local high school caching icon and he lasted a few seasons after leaving Moeller H.S., Gerry Faust - I believe it was in the 80's and lasted perhaps two seasons with the Irish. So with Great Expectations, I guess his chances are slim. Then again Hoover would lose.

As a mom of 2 girls, I found Propst's style a little disturbing. I'm sure if I had boys who had been involved with football, I might see him in a different light. But, the behavior I saw (edited, I know) looked pretty rough for high-school aged boys. Maybe it's just the protective mama in me coming out.
