1999 Mercury 30hp two cycle, stalls when put into gear.  Starts fairly easily, new gas and fuel line. Run great at cruise speed. Set up for approximately 18 months prior to this time.

Any thoughts, other than SeaFoam treatment and new plugs?

Clean/rebuild the little Carb.  Paying special attention to the idle circuit!  Double check ignition timing and set idle.  It should run fine.  Let me know if I can help you.

If I remove the carb and bring it to you, would you be willing to rebuild it for me?  If so about how much would it cost?

Of course, but understand that you would have to do final adjustments.  Carb. rebuild is 95.00.  But being that you are taking it off and putting it on, then lets say 1/2 price?????  But, you must post results.  (I will help you by phone).  Just sayin'

I would drop it off at Cat's place and say fix it.  He has the software and  you don't have to do a hit or miss on setting the timing and idle.
