Yesterday we were up at Paint Creek and dropped by Layport to get a bite. The food was good. Is there anywhere else to get a burger, or better yet a beer with a burger? I've posted this before and Layport was the only suggestion.

There is a place in Waxahatchee to get some grub - not sure about adult beverages.

Yeah, Layport Marina. They have burgers, HB steaks and other little stuff. We need a good seafood place on the water-a family place that serves drinks but not a bar. Kinda like the many on Lake Martin. I talked to the owner of Layport last time we were up there and he said there's just no money in it on our lake. All the lake associated businesses have to make their money from May to September so no one is going to put the capital in to building a nice place on the water. How bout addin' us one in right there at Waters Edge Jeff..

Would love to but covenants prevent it. Wish someone would buy Sunset, tear down what is there and put in a nice place to eat. I think it would draw a crowd in the "off-water" season from Sylacauga to pay bills.

I agree, I know if there was a quality restaurant in Fayetteville I would probably go atleast twice a week with the family. When Kozy Korner was open we went atleast twice a week. The food was OK, the prices were good, but it was more that it was close to the house. If nothing else Sylacauga needs a big chain steakhouse like Outback or TGI Fridays. Or better yet a Hooters.....

I've heard people talk about it but never got the chance to go there. I assume it is no longer there?

It has been closed down for a few years now- I had some great times there. I don't come down often- but came a few weekends back to clean up for the 4th and saw that it was still closed.

Welcome to the world of internet forums. This board has been acting funny, giving error messages when trying to post, if you see it, it posted your message. I made the same mistake last week.
