I will be camping at Wind Creek this weekend and was hoping to hear about some good fishing reports.

Thanx.

Last year you posted a similar request and Coosaman gave you some info. You responded:

Thanx for the info and I will report back after my camping / fishing trip. I installed a Huminbird 561 today with vertical and side scan, this should be a big help over the 25 year old depth finder it replaced.

You need to remember this Forum is a 2 way street. You never reported back....good or bad. Hopefully, you will report back this year.

Thanks.

PS I have not fished for crappie this year.

One thing about Wind Creek.  Most tournaments on the lake are staged from there.  That means a lot of fish are released there.  It is like the stocking truck on a trout stream, and once they get their wits about them, they will be hungry.

The camping/fishing trip last year was good as far as the camping and poor as for the fishing. After 2 1/2 days of fishing I only caught a 2 pound bass and it tasted like poo. The fish were marking well on my new Humminbird 561 fish finder but were not biting. I was under a bridge NW of Wind Creek and there was dozens of fish marking on the graph but no takers. I hope for better results this here and thank you for getting back to me.

Good morning all, my family had a great wet time at Wind Creek this weekend. The bream were hitting worms in two feet of water and the Bass were jumping all around in the shallows one to two feet from shore but I was not targeting them. Lots of fish marking under the route 63 bridge NW of Wind Creek in 50' water at 40' down but not biting. The storms were pretty intense and may have spooked them. I don't know.

Have a great day and summer.

Slicknik.
