Have always fished for bass on Martin. Where is s good place to try for some catfish and a good bait to use

It's that time of year when the cats should be biting. Water temp was 82 yesterday. Look for a large flat with a sandy bottom. Best if you have about 20' of depth to work with. We like to use the ordinary 'noodle' type jugs and suspend bait a few feet above the bottom where you can. Best bait we found last year was night crawlers cut in half or even thirds. It's a little messy but it sure beats stink baits and some other unmentionables.
