Hello,

I will be staying at the lake in Mid April.  I am from NJ.  I am looking for some insight on what tackle to bring down with me.  I will be mostly fishing from shore and kayak.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  The house is on Bayou Road in Dadeville if that helps.

Thanks,

Evan

Mid April is prime crappie fishing.  ultra lite spinning rod (#4 test line) small jigs (2") or minnows.  Fish shallow, in brush or tree tops.  Good luck.

Sometimes, I say sometimes, that lite rig for Crappie gets nailed by a Striper or a Largemouth Bass chasing minnows. When that happens, and you better hope it does, you are in for a glorious battle that you will LOSE on lite tackle. Glorious.. Just respool, rig, and hope you get a replay someday....
