i've seen only a few scattered gulls of late and none that really seem to be feeding.  Has anyone else seen them?

Saw some for first time a week or two ago. Looked like they were scouting , but no feeding frenzy or anything.

I'm new at this striper fishing, but I expected to see more top water bait disturbance on the lake this time of the year.  Maybe I've just missed it, or perhaps the quirky weather we've been having is the problem.  Or, maybe my expectation was misguided.

Several years ago you could find the stripe by finding the birds diving and cuttin up.  For some reason I haven't seen that in a couple of years now. I've heard people say that the pressure on em has changed em. Plus maybe the blue backs being introduced and being a deep water bait may be what's keeping them down. Not sure , but I guess it sounds good.. Ha

No, the reason that you don't see them anymore is because I moved to the area. Once I leave, you'll be able to catch them again. I guaaaaaaarrrrooonnnnteee.

Henry Cowen says to also watch loons. If loons dive and pop up way away from where they started, they are just looking and haven't found bait. But if they go down and pop up near the same spot, they are feeding and have found the bait.
