A local business man told me that within the last 10 days the Army Corps of Engineers took over management of Lake Weiss.

If that is the case then be prepared for more BS than you can imagine.  Friends of mine had homes on lakes West Point and Lanier

and both sold their property because the Corps "ever changing regulations" as one friend put it.

I do know that you are not allowed to cut or clear trees in a Corps lake easement and you have to pay an annual dock permit fee

that is quite high.
