Have the stick ups or stumps gotten any better? We are looking at purchasing and was just curious if they had done anything about them?

What problem are you refering too? I have been going to Lay Lake for 29 years and have never hit a stickup, log, or stump until last week. I was in my pontoon boat about 10 feet off the bank and I actually looked at a log that had been blown over and I THOUGHT I had plenty of room but I bumped it.....O well I guess there is a first time for everything... Even if I was looking directy at the log I hit - kinda stupid on my part.....
You know I guess one of the reasons I have never had a problem in my 30 years of boating on Alabama lakes is that I have always purchased a $5 dollar map (they sell them at Wal-Mart and any sporting goods store) to which ever lake I was going to so I could see where I was no suposed to go... Just sounded like the thing to do to me - I don't blame the lake for hitting stumps if the map clearly shows them and I drive through them.
Just a thought.......I do not mean to sound rude - just logical... my wife has a freind who bought a boat and refuses to come to Lay Lake because all of the stick ups - I said dont drive into them - heck they are sticking up out of the water.....
Thanks, les
