Took pictures of the new goats at the island today. There are 7 females now and one billy. Hope folks will visit there again and enjoy watching and feeding them. I'll try to post the pics tomorrow,

Went looking for the goats last weekend and was appalled at the TRASH on Goat Island. Was on my Seadoo. Next time I will go on my pontoon equipped with a few kids, disposable gloves, and many large trash bags. Who would leave all this trash? I guess that I assume that anyone who enjoys our wonderful lake would try to keep it clean. Disgusting.

I went by Sunday and didn't notice any trash. Was the trash on the goat house side or other. I will help clean also if I know where to look.

Was by on Sunday around noon. Saw the nest but no eagles. We saw four there about two weeks, one with a white head, maybe an adult.

The solid brown female is pregnant. We are not sure though if it is twins or not yet. We will probably know by the end of summer though since a goats gestation period is only 4 1/2 months. As for the trash...Please no body believe that goats are Gods trash compactors!!! All of these goats have been raised by good families and are used to REAL food. While scraps from the cookout and leftovers from home are great, they can not digest the paper plates and syran wrap, potato chip bags or anything else of that nature. There are several families going out to the island weekly to place Goat Feed on the island, and if you would like to help with that there are a few donation jars in surrounding markets just for that purpose. Thanks to everyone who has taken pleasure in the new goats. I grew up with them there and I am so happy to hear the wonderful and helpful response. I believe if we all work together we can make sure these goats make it for years to come.

What does goat feed consist of? Can you feed them Dog food?
BTW went by today and saw the goats. Very enjoyable. Also, the trash situation is better. Saw some campers and I hope that they clean up after themselves. Still lots of cig butts, some beer cans, skoal cans, but overall, better than the last time I was there.
