Subject:	Dog found in Manoy area!

Small dog about 20 pounds was found in the Manoy creek area this past weekend. She is black with white markings on all four feet, her face, and tail. She is not wearing a collar and is extremely thin. Her ribcage is showing and she looks as though she has not had a good meal..... until I fed her this weekend. Had to leave her there with food until I could call the animal shelter to get her on Monday. Well, they do not pick up animals outside the city limits, so I have called people on the lake to stop by to feed her. I intend to take care of her this weekend but she really needs a good family. She is a sweet dog. She does not deserve to be abondoned. I am a part-time lake resident and already have two labs that were dumped. I wish I could keep another.

Don't understand why the shelter does not pick up outsde the city limits....then again, I suppose I need to find her a good home. Anybody out there missing a dog?....or want a dog?

Did you find her a home yet? I have thought of her several times this week wondering if she is OK. I have a house dog already and don't think I could handle two, but don't let her go to the shelter please. That is nothing but a death sentence usually.

Dog still Ok, but still need s a good home. As I said, I have two stray "dumped" dogs and two cats, just can't take another. However, this sweet little one was still hanging around this weekend and lived in and out of the house....no accidents.I have brought her back to Georgia and will take her to the vet tomorrow. I agree about the animal shelter, but I need to find her a home. Whoever you are,,,,,,,,,,you have a good heart. I will try to save this one...too! If your current dog needs a buddy, let me know. I have never heard her growl and she gets along great with my current dogs. Sleeps a lot as she is so malnourished.

I also found 3 abandoned puppies in the Manoy Area about 4 weeks ago. I kept them for 5 days and then had no choice but to take them to the shelter. I posted an ad on the lost and found section of this website and put up signs, but no one ever called. When we checked the animal shelter, they told us 2 of the 3 were adopted. The other one seemed a little weak and did not make it. So sad. People need to be a little more responsible for their animals!

UPDATE: Went to vet today. All shots were given and the dog is in good health. She is staying with my parents to keep them company. Scheduled for spaying tomorrow. Met lady at the vet who does animal rescue....said she would take her in two weeks (going on vacation) as she is so sweet..........not a mean bone in the dog's body...about three yrs old! Lady said the dog will probably go to New Hampshire and find a good home within a few weeks. The Vet loves this person and said she does great work. Apparently, lost dogs and needy animals get great homes up North. Bottom line...$500.00 well spent........I can sleep at night!

Thanks for caring and trying. Wish there were more of us!!!! Bottom line, I appreciate you responding to this message.....people do care!

I'll make sure she is fine.
