i got used to comments like that when I joined Forum 3 years ago--Jay Leno should recruit at the lake

If the igniter is working, it has to be a gas problem. I assume you checked tank level, but there could also be a shut-off valve that is closed or a crimp in the line. Some log sets have a button to push that increases gas flow while lighting the pilot. Good luck.

bad thermocouple ????
|
Frozen condensation in the ports? My insert will sometimes do that if the doors were closed on the insert.
Take a lit propane torch to it.
|
Well I can see we are all up and board at the same time... LOL
|
you said the pilot was working. The logs at our clubhouse had a similar problem and we found a switch that needed to be turned on for the gas to light even though the pilot was already lit.

1. Check tank level 2. If level os good then check lines for kinks or crimps. 3. If other appliances are on the gas system, see if they function. 4. If moisture has been condensing on windows from inside, moisture might be the problem (jets froze). 5. I do suspect thermocouple. If you can not gas hissing when you try to light it with remote, gas valve might be bad.

Also ... make sure and check if there is an manual gas shut off (cock), make sure it is on.
Lastly (not likely) some propane taks have variable pressure regulators, make sure it is set properly.
