Subject:   Antique Sea Doo Decals??
Date:   5/21/2010 4:29:00 PM

After watching the video on the rebirth of USM's SeaDoo's by NCII I am inspired to knock the dust and mildew off my 1990 SeaDoo SP and get it back into running order. I have downloaded the shop manual and have a place to get most of the parts for the electircal system and starter (the reason it went into dry dock about 8 years ago). I am having problems finding OEM Decals for it though. I have done the usual Google Searches and can find plenty of the "RAD" or "EXTREME" or "Whatever the crap you call the stuff with the skull & crossbone or Flame Detail on it", but my 20 year old SeaDoo would much rather maintain her classic look with something a little more original...Any Suggestions?

I know you wanted OEM but you may be able to get one of the local vinyl printing shops to print them for you. If not you can try asking on PWCtoday.com. They have been very helpful to me in the past where vintage skis are concerned.

One other thing, check the oil lines if you have not converted to premix. They tend to become brittle and break. I just buy the small weed eater fuel line from NAPA and replace them.

Sounds like you have done this before...Don't leave the country or anything 'cause I will probably need advice several more times.

No problem. I am in the process of restoring an 89 SP now.

Murph and Jural:
I have some 89 and 90 parts you may need. I re-did my 89 back in 2001 and changed it to the purple seat and front storage cover. I still have the yellow seat, the gray front storage cover , the gray zip-on steering cover, the foam part under that cover. I also had bought a used 90 blue front storage cover and zip-on steering cover before I decided to go with the purple mode. All items are in good condition, not perfect. I also have the original engine short block which someone can have real cheap but it should be rebuilt. It was a running engine but I saw a brand new short block on Ebay 2 years ago and could not pass it up as was a bargain.
