There must be more to managing the water level at Lake Weiss that can be explained.
Current level is up, pretty close to Full Summer Pool. It hardly ever gets to Full Pool, that seems to be some theoretical maximum.
Thankfully the level makes the docks usable, the creek entrances passable and makes the ramps and channels safe.
Upstream Allatoona is still above its Summer Pool level. Weiss Dam is still releasing and generating and if there has been a soaking rain to produce run off enough to lift Weiss, it has not been noticed by the authorities that measure such, at least that I have noticed (I live on the edge of the Etowah drainage basin) or can find reported by the Weather folks or the UGA source.
Maybe the APCO managers are geniuses or magicians after all. I hope they keep it up so we will have some water for awhile.

Why is Alabama Power running water out of Weiss faster than it comes in? Here we are just a few days after July 4th and the lake is down to 563.00. I've been watching it drop on nearly a daily basis since June 25th when it was nearly 564.00. A few years back I waited until the weekend after labor day and had to walk my pontoon out of the cove to deeper water. They have got to wait until later in the year before they start dropping the lake level.

And look at it now! We've had up to 4" of rain in areas and yet APCO allows Weiss level to rise a whopping 2". They are he!! bent on making sure the lake doesn't stay at full pool, even if it means flooding someone downstream......I just don't understand.
