MONTGOMeRY, AL (WSFA) -
Students from Trinity Presbyterian School in Montgomery gathered Friday morning to pray for a former classmate who is missing.
Those in attendance at the prayer vigil identified the missing person
as 16-year-old Gray Godwin. The 10th grade student used to attend
Trinity, but recently moved with his family to Homewood, a suburb of
Birmingham.
Godwin is said to have been duck hunting on Lake Martin Thursday but never returned.
The Alabama Department of Public Safety confirms it conducted a
search Thursday by air and with ground units. Sgt. Steve Jarrett with
Alabama State Troopers says DPS was assisted by Marine Police and ABC
agents.
Reports are that the search continues today.
Trinity students say they're praying for Godwin's safe return.
WSFA 12 News will have more information on this developing story as it becomes available. Continue to check back for updates.

Tragically this young man lost his life when he drowned. He has been found per friends of the family… although I have not seen news report on it yet. Very sad.

Yes he was found on Friday. Extremely sad for the family, but I knew him, and that young man knew Christ so he's in a much, much better place.

Nice of you to share that, John. It's always tough to lose a family member, and even more so when it's a youngster. The family can find comfort, even though sometimes it might not be immediate, in knowing as you said, he is in a much, much better place.
