   Back in my college days there was a popular Southern comic, Brother Dave Gardner. (He could never make it in todays climate) One of his best lines was:

                                                        A friend asked, "Bro Dave, are you still a Democrat?"

                                                             "No,man," he said, "I learned how to read!"
