Refuse Disposal Question

i had a load a misc debris collected over the years....mostly floating refuse from lake after storms. Went to landfill in Tallasee and they wanted $75 bucks to unload. Since it was secure I just took to home landfill and discharged for free. That said, is there another option? I have some more stuff to get rid of. No wonder we have a problem with people doing the dump and run. $75 bucks to unload a small trailer of junk is ridiculous. I heard there was a quarterly open container sponsored by county. Anyone know about that? When next date?

April 9 & 10 Locations will be announced by the Middle Tallapoosa River Basin Clean Water Partnership. They have a Facebook page. Probably will appear in the newspaper.

Throw Away Day
The Tallapoosa County Commission is sponsoring quarterly Throw Away Days -- where they are furnishing dumpsters at locations throughout the county. This is a good time to clean out your attic, garage, storage areas. The next Throw Away Days will be April 9 & 10. We will alert you when the locations are announced.
