I HAD to make a trip to walmart. I needed a new phone and my glasses adjusted in a bad way. I walked by the young lady outside and she asked if I had a mask and I smiled said no thank you as polite as I could and kept walking. The counting lady just inside the door smiled and said welcome to walmart as I breezed by. I went to electronics and selected and purchased a new phone, went to the eye care center and got my glasses adjusted. Since they have taken out all the old man benches at the front of the store I went to my vehicle and activated the new phone. The old phone was just purchased a couple of weeks ago and had a volume issue so I needed to return it now that the new one was activated. Second trip in the same scenario but now there was a very pleasant young man and I politely refused again and just said have a nice day. I went to the service desk got my refund and left again.
Not once was I even asked to put on a mask, much less commanded too. I wasn't the only one either.
So much for the arguement that Walmart wont service anyone without a mask. Now that I have won that debate I fully expect to be called names and accused of wanting to kill somebody's granny.
I refuse to submit to idiotic policy to placate the whiney left.

Good for you. Just glad that you are so healthy and don't need to be concerned about catching the virus as expressing your individual rights is important to you. I do hope you washed your hands and kept 6 feet away when they handed you your phone. Yur de man....
I bought a new 2020 iPhone SE at Walmart ONLINE a few weeks ago for $200 as an upgrade through ATT.

I wanted to link to an article but couldn't figure out how. While Walmart still has a mask policy but have said that they will not require their employees to enforce it, if someone refuses. They are not the only store to do this. Given the level of violence in this country, I don't blame them. It is just a matter of time until someone gets shot or seriously hurt. We can't count on civil and respectful behavior anymore.

But I read your earlier post to say they had abandoned their mask requirement. They haven't done away with their mask requirement, but they aren't going to get into a confrontation with a customer who refuses. They don't pay their people enough to risk their lives over a mask, and given the uptick in violence in this country, I don't blame them. They don't want the liability.

It was just an article from House Beautiful, that said that they weren't going to confront people who refused to wear masks.

The exact thing I said in the original posts. I don't know about you but dropping enforcement means the same as not having one to me.

There is an article in the NYT that says as much.

I've never read the NYT I am proud to say. I forget where I read it first but it had the public statements of Lowes, WM, Home Depot, and a grocery chain I had never heard of incorporated into the article about confrontations that have happened. You are right, eventually if this madness doesn't end someone will be killed, and NONE of them want it to be in one of their stores. Hence, NO ENFORCEMENT.
Frankly I don't know why they even go along with the charade. It is such a HUGE waste of resources. In the past you might have one Greeter at the door. Now every time I go in I see 5-6 employees before getting to the shopping carts. They are also having issues with change. The fella at the Service Desk was having a hard time making change yesterday. So when you are in there be sure to use your loose change when checking out.

I just use my credit card. Not because I am foregoing cash due to germs, but because I get cash back on everything I buy if I use my card. I've heard of places rounding up to the next dollar because they claim they can't get change. I was in Walmart ond day, several years ago and they couldn't take cards via the registers. They were freaking out, because they couldn't figure out how to call the credit card company and get authorization by phone; and customers were freaking out because they didn't have cash.

I understand all that, and most folks dont have any change these days. Youn still help with change using a card. Simply offer them what change you do have and they enter it as cash tendered and then use your card to pay the rest. Every little bit helps.

Now that would be too complicated - I'm a woman with a purse and all my change is always in the bottom. No one wants to wait until I fish it out. But, I thought we didn't have a problem locally. I thought I read that in the Outlook.
