I may be premature in my inquiry, but I will be looking for a rental property (at least 3bedroom) sometime around September / October 2004. I will be building a home at The Ridge and I would like to live within a reasonable distance to to the building site and to Alexander City.

I would also consider buying a temporary home (under 25k) if that even exists.

consider looking at some of the rentals on this website by owners. Some of them are willing to rent long term (we rented a condo for an entire summer once prior to buying our home). I think your chances would increase because you are looking to begin renting in the "off" season. I found the "by owners " to be much more reasonable than going through an agency. Good luck!

Thank you for the referral. I noticed that all of the vacation rentals are "On the Lake" which is nice, but not necessary. I don't know what the rental housing market is like near the lake, but I am sure it will be much less expensive off the lake. Also, the vacation rentals appear to be furnished and that would mean that I would have to place my belonings in storage. Lots and lots of decisions to make. Thanks for your imput. It is appreciated. Hope to be your neighbor soon.

Good points!! One other suggestion is to check the Alexander City Outlook (newspaper) classifieds for homes for rent in the area. Good Luck!!

Call Todd Clark at Amy Clark Realty. He manages several rental properties in the Alex City area, mostly off the water.

Also, I know someone that may be interested in renting their house out in Stillwaters. It's not on the water, it's on the golf course. Email me if you're interested and I'll relay his contact info to you.
