my mercruiser has always run a hair over 170 F on my temp gauge. This year, it's running slightly over that. Changed the impellar this past summer. Any ideas? Is this significant. The engine doesn't feel that hat . I can touch the risers where the water is pumped through .

Mercruisers are designed to run under 180 degrees & some older models even cooler. I would not be concerned unless it gets over 180. You could check the thermostat (in the water housing) if it gets too hot.
