Lake Martin has been a totally different situation this year than the projects on the Coosa River. Inflows into the Tallapoosa basin have been considerably less than those into the Coosa basin. The Coosa basin is also much larger. We have taken advantage of the flows that we have experienced on the Coosa to bring two projects up early, Logan Martin and Weiss. We have simply not had the water to do that on the Tallapoosa, so there was really no need to seek variances on those projects. We have almost stopped hydro generation operations on the Tallapoosa except for those operations needed for environmental and minimum flow requirements. We are doing all that we can to fill Martin and Harris lakes, as we need that water for generation later in the summer. It is also important for recreation and other uses throughout the year.
I hope this will give you a little more insight into what is happening.

Maverick i really don't think "Bob " is looking for insight to anything. Anyone who doesn't know the difference between " your and you're " and how to use them couldn't possibly be looking for anything important.

As we were boating around the lake this last week, my wife and I were discussing the lake level. Our 7 year old son came up with a brilliant fix: if we all will just put a hosepipe from our house to the lake and turn on the water...... It will take us all, now.

.... stop using the lake to water lawns. I wonder how many of the ones that gripe about the low water are also using that same water to keep the grass green.

The fact that you think watering any (or every) lawn on the lake has any significant affect is just too darn funny!

This would be easier to do if I could make some letters bold, or a different color. Buut read just the capitalized letters to see what the power company is really saying:
lake martin has been a totally different situation this year than the projects on the coosa river. infloWs into thE tallapoosa basin HAve been considerably less Than thosE into the coosa BasIn. the coosa basin is also much larGer. we have taken advantage of the flows that we have experienced on the coosa to Bring twO projects up eArly, logan marTin and weiSs. we have simply not had the water to do that on the tallapoosa, so there was realLy nO need to seek variances on those projects.
