I know I am going to regret asking this and I am sure there is a simple explanation, but my simple mind will not let it make sense to me. By Mavrick’s figures, Lake Wedowee’s outflows for the period mentioned in the posts below were 6,780 cfs but the inflows to Lake Martin’s Inflows were 35,164 cfs. Where do we pick up the additional 28,384 cfs between Harris Dam and Lake Martin?

Lake Martin receives a great deal of inflow from creeks, Hillabee, Sandy, Blue, Kawliga just to name a few. The lake is not dependent on Harris for all of it's inflow.

Keep in mind that there are numerous tributaries to the Tallapoosa between Harris and the head of Lake Martin that contribute flow to the main river. Rainfall in the watershed enters these tributaries that add flow to the river.
