Help! I have a 10 year old bow rider that was detailed by a local marina. It cost $250.00 and it looked as though they just washed it. Does anyone know someone on the lake that restore the finish on a fiberglass boat??

Normally, I would answer your post and offer services provided by my shop. However, after seeing Oyster get his rear chewed off, after being dragged down a gravel road behind a wild horse I can't think of ANYONE, not a sole offering boat detailing.

The poster asked a question. Nothing wrong simply answering with saying "I can do that" and giving contact information - especially if you support the site through advertising - which you do.
You would retain your gluteus maximus in such an instance - you might just be subjected to a little good natured "here, kitty kitty"....:>)

What does gluteus maximus mean? Is that before or after the Intake Manifold.

There is an advertisement on the home page for some fly-by-night operation called "Cathouse Performance Marine". They have the word "marine" in their title, so just maybe they might be able to help you find a detailer.
If not, he'll be glad to sell you a new GM vehicle....give him a call.
:>)
Or just email CAT BOAT.

Get the right detailers from the "hangout", put the proper attire (or lack thereof), some lawn chairs and beer.... You would have the bank coming to you to get the deposits.
|
I'm sure Steve (aka "Cat", "Boat fixer", and "trouble maker") will send you an e-mail.....
but seriously, he has earned the confidence of many folks around the lake and on the forum and he will stand behind his work.

With the name Cathouse you gotta fly by "Night" or risk being seen. Also, we had to put the "Marine" on the end. After all, what would you think if it was just called "Cathouse Performance"? <<<<<<lmao. Heck, yall know what they say about Oysters and male performance. Maybe you could open up restaurant named "Hi-Performance Oyster House" Next to "Cathouse Performance". Talk about making a deposit..

Cat, you MUST move your business(s) closer to Lake Martin. Just imagine what businesses could spring up around you. And locate on the West side so we can balance out all Russell is doing off 63

Well these guys had fun with y'all.. On a more serious note dudes.. have a perfectly serviceable bass boat but the fiberglass was beginning to look crappy.. Went to Thomas auto supply, bought two spray cans of clear laquer (sp.. whatever), but is cost $14), hit it with fine steel wool, wiped it down with MEK and did it.. Took two coats, 3 hours, a 6 pack of miller lite and the results were amazing. Probably should have kept this top secret.. could have washed your boat, sprayed it and charged you a thousand bucks..

I do not know of any true boat detailer around the lake. Som eof the marinas provdie the service but lets just say they are expensive - $250.00 just to clean the pontoons on a pontoon baot with some acid, not for me.
However, there is a car detailer in Alex City which did a friend of mines bass boat that looked like crap as it had been sitting up for 5+ years and when he was through with it, the boat almost looked like new.
Just called my friend and the company was City Car Wash in Alex City off Old Dadeville Road.

MaryKate, the same company that was discussed earlier, has a bottom cleaner that works as well as the seat/mildew remover. It is available for pontoon or fiberglass. I cleaned my boat a couple of weeks ago and it is the easiest thing I have ever done related to a boat. You brush it on with a paint brush, let it sit a couple of minutes and rinse it off with a waterhose. Cleaned the gunk and made it shine too. And so far the hull has not disintegrated (LOL). The web site that I used to purchase it is http://www.boatdiscounters.com/mkt2032.html, but it is available from many sources.

No doubt, CAT is a great option. Just another reason he needs to open a Lake Martin 'house'. So much business, so few honest, dependable shops.

Cat, you have more business and common sense than to make a post such as Oyster's. All he had to do was read the posts, take notes, and discuss with his staff about what was being said and try to correct the things he has control over. He learned a very valuable lesson.

Maybe one day... I'll open up at the lake. I can see it now. Cathouse Bar to the left.. Performance engines to the right... Outboards in the middle stall... Ho's Hangout out the back door. You all are wonderful people. This has been a fun thread, and I am sure "Oyster" has a little relief being that yall have been off his a22 for a few hours. LOL. Heck, I kinda like Oysters myself... My tummy muscles hurt from laughing. Is this Monday? It only gets better for the rest of the week. "Bling it On". Yall are too funny.

I have a pontoon boat (Yamaha 4 stroke) in Parker Creek in need of an oil change, impeller, and tune up....but Prattville is so far away......if I HAVE to I'll pull it out of the water and bring it over, but.....ever think about that property in Central that once had the sign up saying "please buy me"? There was a guy who had a boat place in MGM somewhere near the river whose lease ran out and tried to make a go of it in Central - but didn't have the "legs" that you have. Lots of boats within 20 miles or less from there, and plenty opportunity to have "hose hang outs" as well.
It is for sale again....:>)

That spot may not be big enough, MrHodja. Plus, the "curves" in the road there may make it a dangerous ride. But I like your thinking. Hwy 63 has "Russell Crossroads".....Hwy 9 should have .... ???
