Forecast still rain on and off during the Memorial Day weekend.
So Swimmer quit doing your rain dance, I know it is you - LOL.
But with that said I do not care if it rains as still in paradise with good friends, family and food. So as Cat would say BLING IT ON !!!!! and our family will just make the best of it come rain or shine.
Also if there is a chance of rain maybe some of the crazies (those that only get on the lake on holiday weekends and have no clue on proper boating etiquette) will stay away and not beat our boats and piers (notice I did not say the other word) to death.

I couldn't agree more. We still aren't sure who is coming over and who is not for Memorial weekend. However, we are going to have a great time anyway. We spent the last 4 weekends cleaning the house, the yard, de-winterizing the boats, and installing a new board walk. Got everything done last sunday and we are looking good and ready to play.
Hope to catch you all on the water and be safe!
COME ON FRIDAY ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Weather.com for zip code 36861 (Jacksons Gap) says it's only going to rain 30% of the time. The other 70%, I plan to play outside on my first Memorial Day weekend at the lake.
Question for Cat: if I get caught out in the rain in my boat this weekend, will it hurt the boat to get wet? :)
(There's your question of the day you asked about).

Don't want to jump in front of CAT (seen the way he drives) but.. Boats are designed to resist water like that you will find in the lake, but rainwater will discolor the vinyl. If you must drive the boat in the rain, it will last longer if you turn the boat upside down - the pontoons and plywood flooring are better able to resist the rain.

And always protect your bumpers by keeping them inside the boat.

But make sure to reoil the bumpers and dry them out to preserve them for years to come.
On the dock make sure to reapply the weatherguard or it could rot out.

your right about starting the b&d conversation so early in the week. And by the way 4, when you turn the boat back upright after the rain, don't forget to turn the cooler back over too so as not to spill the beverages.

I have reason to believe that when the present administration gets through passing out edicts to automobile industry, he will focus his attention on the watercraft industry. This will probably eliminate the speed and size of boats that are operated by those who are less civil upon the waters. Probably the largest vessel will be a K-mart canoe with a 5 hp Evinrude outrigged for it.

I need it to quit so my swamp AKA yard can finally dry out. My yard has been a bog since February :<(
It was so wet at one point that my mower would just spin the tires trying to cut part of it. Thats the down side of having a low flat lot. But after a lifetime of climbing the hill at the old family place I will gladly deal with the bog occasionally.
