You’ll have about 1/4” of pollen next spring everywhere on boat.  Why no cover?  Even a “blue Polly” will help.

What I’ve been doing for many years:  Make sure boat is dry on the inside cover and place a small electric fan under the cover and let it run all winter.  Mold doesn’t like dry surfaces and wind!  Key is boat must be dry before covering.

After several years of testing I think I have mastered mold.

Vacuum boat to get out the food.

Wash boat.  Use bleach & some degreaser and surfactants.  or

Rinse forever with a pressure washer.

Put out in the sun.

Bring into the boathouse and use a clear shell product.  Zep Clear Shell has passed my shower curtain test.

Wipe evenly for protection and anti-mottling.

Kiss the mold good bye.

Shorty is right.  The boat MUST be before being covered.  I ususally let ours dry at least two days before covering, depending on weather. Also take everything out of the storage compartments and let them dry seperately.  Prop the seats open and let the inside dry also.  A fan is a good idea, so are some type of absorbant, charcoal or silica works well.

As for cleaning, if you do it in the fall, you still have to do it in the spring.  Wipe it down good, dry it out, cover and store under roof if possible.
