What a great government program and effective use of our tax payers dollars.

Edmund's analysis of the impact of the CFC program makes perfect sense to me. I know 3 people that used the program and none changed their vehicle choice as they were all trading in vehicles with lower fuel efficiency than what they planned to buy anyway. Of course, when you consider the energy consumption of destroying perfectly good used cars in order to sell new ones it is a complete failure. But when does government ever do anything that considers the real cost of their decisions anyway?

Once again, the most trusted name on the Forum is Water_Watcher. Thanks for bringing this forward as it shows that you are truly Fair and Balanced.
I, unlike my font friend Martini, do not know anyone who traded a vehicle under the program. I guess none of my circle of friends own a clunker. Most of those I know have efficient cars that they bought to help Al Gore solve Global warming.

If this program was such a rousing success, as the government contends, why was it stopped? Another thought to ponder...if the minimum wage is so great, why stop it at $7.00+...why not make it $20-30 per hour...then there would be no poverty!

You are truly on a tear with this latest approach. I can't wait to see how long you can hold out.......too funny.......

Good point AU. I never realized you had such a liberal heart to think of that. I am sure your family is proud of your unselfish approach to helping others. No poverty will mean less crime.

Come on ... just one thing you are proud of that Obama and the socialists have accomplished? There must be something to get such loyalty. Please just one thing. I hate to see you keep embarrassing yourself by shooting your mouth off, but then not be able to support your loyalty.

We all know you have class envy ... so what is it that the socialist are doing right?
