I feel sorry for poor Tony who is just enjoying a weekend away from work. BP CEO's yacht outing infuriates Gulf residents By RAPHAEL SATTER and HOLBROOK MOHR, Associated Press Writers Raphael Satter And Holbrook Mohr, Associated Press Writers – 1 min ago EMPIRE, La. – BP chief executive Tony Hayward took a day off Saturday to see his 52-foot yacht "Bob" compete in a glitzy race off England's shore, a leisure trip that further infuriated residents of the oil-stained Gulf Coast. While Hayward's pricey ship whipped around the Isle of Wight on a good day for sailing — breezy and about 68 degrees — anger simmered on the steamy Gulf Coast, where crude has been washing in from the still-gushing spill. "Man, that ain't right. None of us can even go out fishing, and he's at the yacht races," said Bobby Pitre, 33, who runs a tattoo shop in the crossroads town of Larose, La. "I wish we could get a day off from the oil, too." BP spokespeople rushed to defend Hayward, who has drawn withering criticism as the public face of BP's halting efforts to stop the worst offshore oil spill in U.S. history. Company spokesman Robert Wine said the break is the first for Hayward since the Deepwater Horizon rig BP was leasing exploded April 20, killing 11 workers and setting off the undersea gusher. "He's spending a few hours with his family at a weekend. I'm sure that everyone would understand that," Wine said. He noted Hayward is a well known as a fan of the J.P. Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race, one of the world's largest, which attracts more than 1,700 boats and 16,000 sailors as famous yachtsmen compete with wealthy amateurs in a 50-nautical mile course around the island at England's southern tip. "Bob" finished fourth in its group. It was not clear whether Hayward actually took part in Saturday's race or attended as a spectator. The boat, made 10 years ago by the Annapolis, Md.-based boatbuilder Farr Yacht Design, lists for nearly $700,000.

What is irritating to those on the Gulf is that with oil covering such a wide area of the Gulf, Tony is sailing in pristine water. Golf or even NASCAR would have been a better choice from a PR. It is flaunting it in those clear waters he is sailing in. I have no defense for Obama....the man stepped out for a few hours of recreation similar to every President and executive. Now if Obama went sailing on the Potomac, I would be the first to criticize him.

No matter what Obama does you will find fault. If he were to spend 24/7 in the White House working you would say he needs a rest. You don't like him and I accept that. It is no different that how I felt when Bush spent so much time away from DC at Camp David and Crawford. After the shakedown of BP, the man needed a break.

Hey GF, Tony has got to find some way to enjoy the millions he is being paid.  After watching him sit and listen to the moronic, bloviated congressmen and women he needed a break.  I say we take up a collection and send GF to next year's outing so he won't be so filled with class envy.  He's just mad because he didn't win life's lottery like these other guys and gals that are worth millions.  Heck, maybe we can arrange to have Rush fly him there in his G550.  I hear its quite a plane.

Talk about class envy.  When asked about the comparisons of Obama's frequent golf outings while the oil spews in the Gulf the response was as follows:  White House spokesman Bill Burton on Monday said the president deserves some time to relax, and he doesn't “think that there's a person in this country that doesn't think that their president ought to have a little time to clear his mind.......I think that a little time to himself on Father's Day weekend probably does us all good as American citizens that our president is taking that time."

Ask the same question about Hayward and the BP spokesman said "he doesn't think that there's a shareholder or employee of BP that doesn't think that their CEO ought to have a little time to clear his mind.  I think that a little time to himself on Father's Day weekend probably does us all good as BP shareholders and employees that our CEO is taking that time."  Doesn't take much to magine the outcry from the government media and leftist Demoncrats in Congress......

As for me, I agree with Burton and wish he would go on vacation and play all the golf he can for the next 2 1/2 years.  He should make it a foursome with Biden, Reed and Pelosi.  Imagine how much better off America would be!!!  I think we ought to start a fund for Obama to pay his green fees and vacations for the next 30 months.  I bet we could raise millions!!

Mr. President, please, please, please play more golf, go to more baseball games, go to rock concerts, take as many vacations as you want.  We will pay for you to go on vacation because it is good for all American citizens that he is away from his job as much as possible where he can do little damage.

By the way, Bush gave up golf while he was in office saying he didn't think it was right when soldiers were fighting in Iraq.  And yet he was roundly criticized every time he went to Crawford.....just more hypocrisy of the left wing nuts and the government media..
