If anyone is interested. There is a Century Plant starting to bloom at the intersection of Hwy 50 and Hwy 229. This is not something you see every day.

OK, I had to look that up to see what a Century Plant was because I had never heard of it.  It is actually a type of agave and apparently it sends up this tall spike near the end of its life.
