Awesome video. You have to wonder how close the helicopters were and why they did not surrender?

-How far are the helos? THe video's audio suggests that the helicopteres passed near the sight causing the enemy to leave the IED hole to go and hide on the side of the road. Once the helo detected the combatants, it probably went to a standoff postion beyond the enemy's audio or visual detection range. The length of time from release of teh missle to target destruction suggests that if the missile was released from the helo, the helo was probbably more than a mile away.

-Why didn't they surrender? Combatants on both sides are loath to surrender, even when one side promises a Carribean vacation while the other side promises a beheading. In this particular situation it sounds like the enemy believed that the helo had not dedtected them in the dark, and they probably believed the helo had just continued on its mission. The device relaying teh images of the enemy combatants was probably a front looking infrared imaging device that provides images from heat emmissions. They had no idea they were still being observed bu the helo. Since the enemy combatants were out in the road on a dark cool night, their body heat of 98 degrees made them the brightest thing on our imagingin device ----that is of course, until the misslie arrived.

I'm surprised that some have not insisted that the ACLU did not insist that Miranda rights should have not been read to these individuals before releasing the missiles or whatever was fired. Also, the ACLU and some in Congress would probably have insisted that they should have been brought to this country so that they could have a trial under our judicial system. What a shame that they are now with 100 virgins. If we keep this up, they're going to run out of virgins.

Well, I did read that some ACLU members questioned if they were really just digging for worms to go fishing. Or, more likely, telegraphing for night crawlers by shocking them to the surface. Guess we'll never know now. Good riddance.

Are you sure this was for real? Looked good but it did come from a biased source, CNN.

The video is most likely from a C-130 gunship, not a helo. The helo spotted them and relayed the positon. You can tell because they say 'rolliing in' right before all hell breaks loose. The C-130 'rolls in' at a 45 degree angle so the recoil doesn't knock them off target. It's optimum firing range is like 7 miles out.
