Come on Rooster, the Classifieds page on this site is poor at best.  I find this post is appropriate on Lake Martin Topics.  Besides, there is not much activity on this page anymore (or Boat Maintenance or Fishing).  As a matter of fact, I suggerst he post on Off Topic to get more exposure.

While I like the products they are peddling (although I might wait until they show up at Mike's Merchandise, lol), it is generally preferred that a commercial entity pay lakesonline.com (Bruce Pate) to be be a web site advertiser before availing themselves of access to an obviously focused audience.  I searched this site and didn't find them on the list of advertisers, but maybe I missed them.  Unsalted, if you aren't a paying advertiser please reach out to the system administrator (Bruce) and get registered.

I think Roosters point, and I whole heartedly agree, is you want to advertise here contact Bruce and buy an ad. Occasionally plugging a business is one thing but to introduce yourself with a FREE ad like that is kinda tacky.

Rough crowd here!  My apologies.   I've been a member for several years and have posted before in 2018 when I did a fundraiser giving half of my proceeds to the goats on goat island.  My apologies for sharing all the designs I've been working on.  I have seen lots of posts over the years sharing local services and businesses so I wasn't aware my post would be taken so negatively amd the negative messages through my website.  I won't share here  again.  Have a happy new year amd may you all be blessed with your own endeavors and small businesses.

Thank you, I appreciate your compliment on my drawings.  My designs won't ever be on any other sites or stores. I've spent years obtaining a federal trademark and designing an original local brand for Lake Martin since 2017.  UnSalted Waters is a connotation on uncharted waters, but instead of exploring the sea, it's exploring the freshwater of Lake Martin.  I apologize  for the post, I see it has created several negative responses in this community.  I will not post here again.  Thank you for the feedback, I appreciate it. Can an Admin, please remove my post as I would like to stop the negative messages to my website.

Its not personal, its business.  Bruce has maintained this forum for Lake Martin,and others, FREE TO USERS, for about 25 years and many of us appreciate it and won't allow folks to abuse it.  Some of us old timers can be a little crusty at times.  I can assure you howeer that I have not visited your website, but if I did it would be to purchase a shirt, not post negative comments because you made an ettiquette mistake here.

I will state unequivoally that anyone that has or is considering going to your website and leaving negative comments over this post/thread NEEDS TO STOP! Thats just rediculous and childish.

Now to make ammends I suggest instead of checking out you should go over to Off Topic and make posts with liberal talking points, whether you belive them or not.  That way you will increase clicks which = $'s for Bruce and entertainment for the masses.  While you are being evicerated you can place a link and get away with it as long as you try defend liberalism....lol.

Please don't let the boo birds discourage you.  We want products like yours to be available because we also love the lake and lake living, and are proud to wear lake-themed apparel.  We also value the lakes online web site and all it has to offer, but that Bruce doesn't do it out of the goodness of his heart.  Please look into what it might take to become an advertiser and the benefits that come along with it.  I do know that Bruce highlights new members and their services on the home page, and on occasion after that initial assignment.

As to my comment about Mike's Merchandise, they also sell lake-themed shirts, but at a significantly lower price.  Mind you, the quality of shirts and their graphics are probably well below what you are selling, but there also is about a twenty dollar difference in price. As you market your wares you might want to provide a little rationale as to why one would pay the difference, be it the quality of the shirt, the uniqueness of your graphics, and/or your limited production numbers.

Whether you decide to become an advertiser or not, I wish you luck with your venture.  And again, please don't let the negativity of a few deter you from offering your wares to the great majority of us who admire your entrepreneurial spirit.

Lifer, While that is quite tempting to get eviscerated on another thread, I think I’ll pass today.  Lol.  I guess I’ll stick to Facebook.  I certainly did not mean to “abuse” the forum by sharing. My sincere apologies to Bruce and everyone else here.  Lesson learned.  

As far as paying to advertise on a classified section here, the feedback from my post was mostly negative and the only clicks to my site were met with harsh messages.  This doesn’t seem to be the audience for me.

Come on man!  Who doesn't like a verbal thrashing from time to time?  But seriuosly, I wouldn't write this crowd off so easily.  The members here can make or break a business by posting and IRL.  I don't do FaceBook but I have heard that in the last couple of years a couple of FB groups seems to have taken some traffic from here but a wise man would do more to try to promote here rather than just abandon it.  Hodja down below gave some sage advice below also.
