Did the news conference mention that they were looking for some adults in the case?  I do not read that in any report.

Wife watched and said one of the briefers mentioned "this is just the tip og the iceberg", which she interpreted as there might be more arrests to come, but nthing beyond that statement to indicate they are looking for more perps.

The presser left me with the impression that there were more shooters, although that was not said, but tone and body language said there were.  The phrase "tip of the iceberg" was used mutilple times.  I was very impressed with the young Trooper who led the the PC.  VEry professional, although at one point seemed on the verge of tears himself.  Said he went to school and played ball with some of the parents of the victims.   Any other perps, I believe, will be found.  The juvi's will squeal like pigs to get the death penalty off the table, and as one of the LEO's said, this is Alabama, we punish those who go in guns blazing and kill and mame like these animals did.

Nothing will ever satisfy me about this sordid event.  I am glad they have arrested the two and if guilty, they should never be allowed to roam the streets again.  I do wonder how two teens from as far away as Tuskegee ended up there.  Were they invited or did they see it on social media and crash it?  Lot's more will come out over time but kudos to LE for finding and arresting them.  If there were others involved I hope they get them off the street soon.  And if this goes to trial, which I doubt it will as they will not want to expose themselves to a jury in Dadeville, it will not be a lot of fun.  Expect their lawyers to submit a motion to have the trial elsewhere......I know I would.

You are confused about how far Dadeville is from Tuskegee.  It isn't all that far, especially considering Tuskegee has a pretty big city limits.  At one area it runs right up to Auburn City limits. It covers a big area but it is not too bad a drive down 49 South to get to Tuskegee proper.

My impression from the press conference is that they are going to go very slowly and not make any mistakes that would jeapordize the case against the perps.  They definitely made the point that ALEA and the DA are not going to be bullied into giving more information to satisfy the media.  
I think most people are just wondering about the motive, because taking lives and changing the lives of all the young people that were there just seems so unforgivable.  I know that life is cheap now.  They probably know that in addition to the criminal cases there are going to be civil cases as well.  Also probably do noit want it said that Alabama didn't pay attention because it is essentially black on black crime; or that Alabama law enforcent rushed to judgement and accused black people without a solid case.  

I thought that they hit the right tone about doing it for the victims and the families.  I think any adult can imagine themselves in the shoes of these parents.  Even if your child wasn't seriously physically injured in this incident, there will be emotional issues, because I don't anyone goes through something like that and being scared out of your mind, without an afteraffect.

One of the attendees' older brother came because there was reason to believe there would be trouble.  The older brother was killed as he shielded his little brother from the gunfire.  The Mother of the birthday girl must have known something was up because she told those who had guns to leave.  There is a whole different society out there that is foreign to us old folk (over 40).  They have their ways of communicating that day-to-day we are totally ignorant of as to what they are and how they are used.  Unlike Nashville and other events such as that there were at least four conspiritors who worked together to pull it off.  Unfortunately all the armed guards you put in any school would not have prevented this.  The only answer is better parenting and that is going the wrong way it seems.

I'm not even sure that better parenting can change the course, at this point.  Social media is where these kids dwell, communicate and digest the world.  Where we (over 40) might get annoyed with something on social media, for these kids, it can be the rise and fall of the sun.
