Pay to use the Forum. The Webmaster provides great free service to us. Someone has to pay for it. That someone is advertisers.

I don't get the popup ads, but have a popup blocker. 

Lucky, see if you can put a popup blocker on your machine(s).  It will take care of the ads on this site but may interfere with the operation of other web sites
