For those who believe they are informed on the subject of strip mining, you might find some interesting facts presented on this web site. I am amused while reading what some people have to say who maintain a selfish attitude - the heck with anybody else, I will use my property anyway I see fit, even if I destroy my surroundings in the process. A great number of these people today try and influence others with their opinions, but totally disregard the facts. Mining coal adjacent to Smith Lake makes about as much sense as wrestling wild bears for a living - the stakes are high and will most likely result in unhealthy consequences.
