Hey guys,
I met with a few of the leaders of LMLPA tonight and we're thinking of doing a kickoff event for the Annual Renew Our Rivers Lake Cleanup. We've set nothing in stone yet, but we discussed the following:
Hold the event from 6 PM to 10 PM Friday, March 23 (cleanup begins on Saturday)
Admission of $5 includes Renew our Rivers T shirt, cleanup bag, live band, and low country boil.
Coolers permitted :)
I've got two questions, really:
1. Our goal, being the first year and limited budget, is 300 attendees. Do you think 300 local folks would be willing to pay $5 to go to this event?
2. My main concern is that we convert as many attendees as possible into actual volunteers who will clean up the lake. Aggressively, we estimate that we could get 150 of the attendees to actually pitch in. Any ideas on how to increase that number?
Okay, I lied, I have a third question.
Who wants to help me sell tickets to this event, once the specifics are nailed down?
Thanks :)

I will do what I can to help get the word out..... the past several years seems we are always out of town the week of the cleanup. If we are in town we will attend if not we will just help spread the word about the event.
