I miss seeing and hearing the party boat going up and down the river (minus the bad language) Is anyone else renting their houseboat for evening outings and special events?

I don't! But I saw a paddle boat headed downstream last weekend. Probably not a real stern wheeler but it least had that look about it. I don't know if it's for rent or what. Looked like about 30 or 40 feet worth.

Yeah I saw that boat Friday. I wondered if it was a rental or an ice cream boat. I'd like to find one of the larger ones with facilities on board if possible. I figure this forum is a great place to start.

I don't miss the party boat at all.. No proof but every time it went down near the damn, there was a brown sludge left in the area. Funny that the sludge has not been seen since the boat was shut down from the charter trips. We all have a responsibility to the lake. I know the owner was trying to make a living, but at the expense of home owners on the lake. It was one thing to be forced to listen to the music but to be forced to listen to the vulgarity was over the top. I might be wrong, but I shouldn't have to feel embaressed when entertaining guest on the deck and continually hear the f word a half a mile away. Nope, don't miss it a bit.

I agree about the language. It's hard enough to try to keep kids on the right track these days. However; the lake is a place for everyone to have fun within the confines of the law. I really enjoy seeing folks having fun on the water. There are times that it can be a bit noisy, especially on weekends but that just goes along with living on the water. Most noise ordinances are enforced after 10pm. The lake is here for all of us to enjoy!

The paddle boat is docked up by Riverside marine just around the turn at those condos.

Yep, that's the Coosa Queen- Janice and Don Urso charter it for special events and dinner cruises. I built their facebook page at www.coosaqueen.com and www.facebook.com/coosaqueen. Very nice folks; I plan on taking a riverboat trip if things ever slow down enough :)

@ Bama Dave:
Hey buddy, just out of curiosity, what did you mean when you said "was shut down from charter trips"?

I was told by a knowledgable person associated with the owner of the party boat that there were so many complaints about the noise from the boat that Pell City refused to issue another business license to operate the boat as a charter anymore. The boat is for sale for 250k.
