Have been rebuilding for almost two years and still have a problem finding a place to dispose of old building materials, etc, without taking back to Shelby County.  Apparently Tallapoosa County does not have a public landfill and as a resident of Tallapoosa County you cannot use the dumpsters in Lee County unless you are willing to take the chance of a $500 fine. Does anyone know of a place you can legally dump?

Tallassee has a landfield.
Sunflower Landfill Inc

Sunflower Waste & Tall, Advanced Disposal Services Alabama, LLC

1303 Washington Boulevard
Tallassee, AL 36078-5622map

Phone   (334) 215-1338

The City of Alexander City has an inert landfill. You pay to dump there as well. If you have a City Utility bill it may not cost anything.

Thanks Beekeeper
I have been told the Tallassee landfill was commercial and the Alex City was for residents only but I will use the numbers and check them out
