I am planning to come up to the lake in mid December.  Making the trip from Destin, Florida area.  Wanting to do some striper fishing and wondering if the fish are going to be in the south end of the lake near the dam, Kowaliga, or Ware Slough area.  What is the typical pattern that time of the year?

With rare exception, the stripes move upriver to the northern regions of the lake in late October or early November. However, not 100% of them make the migration. Every now and then a 'lost tribe' of stripes will winter in the Willow Point / Parker Creek area. If you are hunting stripes in and around Wares Slough in December, expect thin pickin's. Good luck!
