The lake is now full with more rain coming. It is expected to go to 467. If anyone needs help securing boats, please let me know. I'll be glad to help.

Alabama Powers website says the lake will crest tomorrow near 467. I'm betting it goes higher than that. It's gone up a foot since 6am.

As a relative newbie to the lake and such flood control events, it is interesting to note that Neely Henry has dropped 2 ft below normal in the past 2 days.

As a newbie, I'll give you a nickels worth of education of the lake. Logan Martin Lake is a flood control lake for Lay Lake. As I understand, Neely Henry Lake can flood quicker than Logan Martin so they draw down Henry to allow Logan Martin to take the water. As Logan Martin fills(or floods) they start bringing Henry up. We can flood when Henry doesn't. There are ways of being notified when the water is coming up, but the only way to know for sure is checking websites yourself and not depend on the alerts. I've lived on the lake full time now foe 11 years and have seen the lake come out of its banks several times. Never dull when it happens. Hope this helps.
