We'd like to offer our thanks in advance for any assistance y'all can provide to a couple of newbies.

We grew up on Lake Ontario and spent every summer sailing till the snow blew us back on the beach.  Came South for work twenty years ago and now finally have time to get back on the water.  Trailer sailed on the Mississippi Gulf coast for a couple of years but since we moved to Alabama we've had trouble finding a place to put our 22' Chrysler.  Did last year on the Alabama River and know I don't want to do that again.  Logs, gators and sand bars make me break out in a rash.

Lake Logan Marting is close enough to home to make it work for us but we need some help finding sailboat friendly marinas or ramps the have enough draft to take the Chrysler.

i think woods surfside(http://www.woodssurfside.com/)  would be able to handle it or make you a recommendation - they do our maintenance and winter storage.  If they can not they may be able to suggest a better place to put in.

Probably many of the ones that are on the main channel would be able to handle something of that size without to much problems.

Someone else who would have year round water on the main channel would be Riverside marina  think the website is http://www.abriversidemarina.com/ for contact information - one exit east of Pell City and just right off the interstate.  Have not used them myself in a while as I am no longer in Riverside but down in Pell City on the lake.

Would not put in at the park behind the Pell City Civic Center - there are some shallows up in there.  Good for bass boats etc but not sure I would try somthing needing 4-5 foot of water.

Birmingham Sailing Club is on the main channel down towards the dam. I would check with them.
