I see that several people are looking for a simple pontoon trailer. Does anyone know someone locally with welding experience that may want to build some?

I looked for a used trailer for two years, the few I found were so close to the price of a new trailer I bought a new one. Since we are on Logan Martin I' darn glad I got it and moved my pontoon before the flood.

Yes, but I doubt you could have one built for less than what you would pay for a new one. When you start pricing the materials, they add up quickly.

Probably right. Should have bought a new one a couple of years ago. Called today and was quoted around $3000+, about $1200-1500 increase.

Check this place out...I didn't buy from them because I found a used trailer, but I would have had I not found one. They make a nice trailer and prices are reasonable. They are located in South Carolina so it's a bit of a drive, but they will custom build to your needs.

Thanks, not a bad price, but a little far. Want need one until next Fall, so will continue to look for awhile before making that drive. Maybe I will get lucky as you did and find a used one.
