on my machine and I cannot get rid of it. It sends out non-sensical e-mails from me to people on my e-mail directory. Some lead to Viagra commercials. No Joke here, just crazy stuff.
Any of you familiar with this scam or how to get rid of it??

Is caused by alcohol - you drink too much then the emails start. :-) Maybe CAT is looking for even more work - Cathouse Marine, lawn and garden, and computer repair?

I have not run across the problem yet, but you may want to search for a program to scan for malware. Good luck.

I recently had a virus infect our computer and got rid of it using this program.
I used a free download from www.malwarebytes.org. There is a tab that says "download free version" This is also the site that our local pc shop recommends.

Maybe...maybe not........this is not the same as what happened with me. First of, with a McAfee Total Protection package that features among other things Real Time scanning I don't think I have a problem. In fact, the latest report shows that 1 virus was detected and removed just on the last scan, 4 removed or quarantined since 3/17/10 after 139,000+ files had been checked. So my protection is on.........the problem I had was something went back and re-sent a few different emails to a variety of people. Some of the emails had never been received by the original addressee. Those were not bogus ads for viagra!

Malwarebytes is only going to cure some of the problems. There are a few more you need to run. Superantispyware is one

I cannot understand for the life of me why people pay for antivirus software. If you have a legal version of windows then use this

If you really are infected bad then more steps will be needed. Here is one that you can download and get all those bad ones that others will not

It does a complete and quick scan which by the way can take hours.
Hijack this is another program I use all the time. You have to know how to use this and I would not recommend you try it yourself without help.
