Has anyone seen the small stripes(some people call white bass) move into the sloughs? My experience has been that they start to in the early to mid March timeframe. I have caught them about this same time over the last three or four years. I hope to go to the lake Wednesday and try my luck. Last year I caught 13 fish on 13 casts. I always use a small white jig. I'm hoping to locate their movement so I can take some of my grandkids and let them have some fun. It's possible that all the rain may interfere with the timing of their movement into the shallows. Would like to hear if anyone has had any luck so far.

Three weeks ago I caught a good number of both white and spotted bass in shallow water south of pleasure point on the shallow humps 15-20 feet deep. They were schooling and I caught them on flutter spoons. But then again, that was 3 weeks ago. Good luck!

White Bass and Striped bass are two different species.  If some people are calling small stripers white bass, they are in error.

Stripers are schooling and hitting shad on top water near pleasure point.

Caught a few white bass running up one of the bigger feeder creeks this afternoon.  You don't need to head all the way up the lake to find white bass.  Any good sized feeder creek can sustain a white bass run.
