Who ever knew that “two track” diplomacy was illegal and worse was an impeachable offense?? I guess this democrat congress is gonna have to impeach President Roosevelt for his use of Harry Hopkins back in the WWII time frame. Amazing what we learn from this spectacle.

It's not impeachable. The only thing that might be considered an impeachable offense is if it is determined that he utilized his position for personal gain. Democrats seem to believe that asking for Ukraine's help was for personal gain against his election rival. I guess they wil also try to say that withholding the security assistance from Ukraine, which was appropriated by Congress, is beyond his authority, especially since holding it back as long as they did ran the risk of the one year money not getting obligated in time, and coud have expired. Which didn't happen.

It was this year. nothing to do with Hillary. It was held up for personal gain...getting dirt on a potential rival Biden. Illegal and immoral. Trump doesn't understand either of those concepts.

If it were illegal, they would arrest him, not impeach him. This is too murky an area to call it illegal. Immoral is a judgement, not a legal state.
Suppose we found out that this is common practice among a lot of Presidents - but no one ever filed a whistleblowers complaint about it. We have no idea what past President's have said over the phone or even in meetings. That is why this will go nowhere.

For someone who is our government expert, I am surprised to hear you say arrest him. You don't arrest the President...you impeach him. Read the Constitution...Did you scream arrest Nixon?

You beat me to this one. You impeach then arrest when removed from office. Just think what would happen if any District Attorney or Attorney General could indict and arrest a sitting president. Ken Starr reported out a dozen or so CRIMES by Bill Clinton and arresting him was never even discussed.
Hound you seem to be falling back into to your "Swamp personallity" lately. Take a deep breath, relax and remember you live in Alabama, not the swamp.

No, I don't have the "swamp" mentality. I just know that a lot of the people testifying are not political, but people that are invested in trying to do the best for Ukraine. It's hard to switch gears sometimes. They aren't against Trump, per se, they just don't think that personal politics should be a factor. Also, some of the people do resent being left out of the loop of what they consided their portfolio of responsibility. Don't forget that they are the ones left to explain the situation to their Ukrainian counterparts in face to face meetings.
We know that Trump isn't going to be impeached nor should he be. He made an error in judgement. My only point was that how do we know that other Presidents didn't do the same things (like Biden, as VP) but no issue was ever made of it?

If these folks are "not politcal" someone needs to tell them. They are acting like nothing but politcal hacks. So what if they got their feelings hurt. POTUS sets foreign policy, NOT BEAURACRATS. If they don't like his policies they have options. They can resign in protest, or shut the hell up, salute the President and do his bidding. Of course they can always come home and run for president themslves so they can follow their own agenda. Until then they should STFU.

I have not seen any indication from anyone that they don't agree with Trump's policies. The only conern that was expressed was that Trump was holding up allocated (from Congress) funds that would expire 30 September for the reason that was stated in the phone call transcript. They were concerned that the money would expire. But I haven't heard anyone testify that they disagreed with Trump policy, that they expressed any concern to the Ukraine or did anything that would indicated that they didn't agree. Their job is to convey U.S. policy to Ukraine, and execute policy. Since most of them have served numerous Administrations, prior to Trump, I don't think they have done anything different. It's not unusual for people who are all working the same program to express concerns or try to figure out what is going on among themselves. The vast majority of these people were not in contact with Trump or even Guiliani. So I wouldn't interpret that people talked among themselves as being against Trump.

I'm sure most will whine it's another "gotcha" question but it is a question that each of you should have the guts to answer if you want to be taken seriously...if the actions in question had been taken by Barack Obama ot a President Hillary Clinton would you all have the same opinion about a similar impeachment inquiry? Well?

I never called for Obamas impeachment - even when I felt that he needed more investigations and oversight - and running guns into Mexico probably should have started some hearings to get to the bottom of Obama's 'wingman'.
Now since you raised the question - Would you be calling for Obama's impeachment over this phone call? Goose Gander?
We now have a pretty good idea what you are willing to overlook for your demonrat overlords, which is everything. You are unwilling to hold any demonrat to the same standards you demand of a republican.

Based on the "superb" answer you provided to Archie's question, I would think he should think twice or maybe three times before he continues with his "what ifs".
