The real balance of power is waiting to be decided. There are 3 senate races which could give the Democrats control or one vote shy. I personally believe we need a balance of power.

The first race remaining is the reelection of a Republican convicted felon who is currently leading. Republicans do like their felons.

The second is a incumbent Republican in Minnesota in a tight race against a Leftist comedian.
One would think if Coleman served his state well he would whip Franken by more than 700 votes.

The third is a Republican in Georgia who won in 2002 when he called a triple amputee from the Viet Nam War a non patriot. Chambliss got a deferment cause of a bad knee. I can imagine the comments if Chambliss was a Democrat who insulted McCain as he insulted Cleveland.

We do live by 2 standards. For Republicans to support Chambliss is a travesty.

Hey, GF. I don't like being lumped in that generic pool of yours for Republicans. All these months you've been telling us that all Dems aren't alike, so please apply the same logic to Republicans. I'd like to keep some balance of power between Dems and Republicans myself, but I don't like Stevens and not sure about the others either. The bottom line is that pretty much all politicians say or do things that we regular folks would never do - and couldn't get away with if we did. that doesn't make us like them just because they are members of a particular party. By the way, I'm not a registered Republican, I just normally find them easier to vote for because I can't agree with Democrats. I did, however, vote a split ticket this year. As you well know, in Alabama you would not be voting for a lot of local and state folks if you voted the party line in every election.
