If so, what are you reading now?
I just finished the new James Patterson "Swimsuit".

Love James Patterson - his collaboration novels not so much though. Just finished Ted Dekker's 'Boneman's Daughters'. Now reading Jeffrey Deaver's 'Roadside Crosses'.

Kiss the Girls ... and Along Came A Spider were great James Patterson thrillers ... his newer stuff ... not so much.
My two cents ....

Yes, love Alex Cross series, although even the later ones I haven't enjoyed as much.

Of course. I have to say that I regard James Patterson as a guity pleasure -- a quick read. I like his Alex Cross series, but even they have gotten a little thin.
I like Patricia Cornwell, but had gotten pretty disgusted with the thinness of her work too. Her last book, "Scarpetta" was better, but I'm actually wondering if she hasn't come to the end of the line with that character.
I think the last book John Grisham wrote "The Associate" was the best thing he has written since "A Painted House".

"the Story of Edgar Sawtelle"? I resisted it, didn't think I would like it, but once I got started I couldn't put it down.

"Pillars of the Earth"....Great story of a Master cathedral builder and his family in 12th century England. Anyone would like it but it especially appeals to architects.

I loved that book. I didn't think I would, but I did. And the follow on he wrote after that (having a senior moment, and can't think of the title).

I'm planning to read that one too (World Without End?) as soon as my friend finishes it at the beach this week. He says it is good but not quite up to Pillars.
